Tuesday

in her majesty's honour

so i love the queen and the royal family as much as the next person, naturally i had to collect the many many memorabilia that was for sale. M&S had plenty of beautiful packaged delights.
i just wish we were this patriotic all year round. the bunting that lined the streets were just too pretty. perfectly summery.
we had a few little celebrations. a tea party at work and a picnic (indoors, due to the rain) at mother's.
i made jubilee cupcakes with jam inside. i ate vintage looking chocolate. i cooed over the queen and kate and harry. i painted my nails. i had jubilee ma'mite on my toast. i love britain.

  1. Completely in love with the M&S tins - I've ended up with two of the cream cameo types and one of the pink crown-y types. Totally agree - we do memorabilia incredibly well here in Blighty! :-) Sad that the Jubilee weekend has been and gone!

  3. As soon as the jubilee was over I instantly regretted not buying any tins or such for memorabilia in the future! Looks like you celebrated wonderfully, I too did nothing much special and instead spent most of it indoors revising since I don't have a tv in my student house :( xx

  10. I made bunting with my class. Each kid made at least one flag and drew their own union jack then we hung it all round the classroom. They were so proud of their team work as well as their queen and country :-)

  12. Love the patriotism (and that tiny crown on your nail) - I was working both days of the bank holiday, but we did enjoy some lovely Pimms in the evening.

  13. I absolutely love those cupcakes- the bunting on them is such a cute little touch! The tins are adorable as well.

I didn't really get involved in the jubilee myself, which I regretted as soon as it was over. Prince Harry aside, the Royal Family have never really captured my interest in all honesty... It's a shame, really! Sounds like you had such a lovely time though : )

  14. I think the Queen is so cute. She always wears these coloured suits and she seems to have one in every colour! I love the Ma'amite as well, they should have that all year! xxx
