Adventuring

Lately, I have had a few little outings. Spent lots of my pennies on tea, tape, photobooths, cards, gifts and more.
LONDON
My friend Nicola and I hopped on the train up to London to visit the Barbican's 'Rain Room', which to my deep sadness was a ridiculous six hour queue. After overhearing a couple's conversation on the fact it would be dark outside when they were done, made us quickly run out of the queue straight to the gift shop.
We then decided to go to Covent Garden for a little wander and to buy our best friend her Birthday gift. We went on to 'Drink Shop Do' for a pot of Tea, some sweets and a slice of cake- (or in my case, a huge dollop of chocolately and chewy Meringue).
An empty purse and a bag full of goodies later, we headed home to finish off the second birthday gift.
I told myself I would save some pennies this payday for next months birthday outings and buy some new shoes for work... I have failed. Very much so. I bought myself a few treats; tape, cards, stickers, postcards, little messages and messages in jars. Nothing saved. No work shoes. ...Oops.

BRIGHTON
This weekend was Mandy's birthday meet up. Nicola and I ventured out and caught our FOUR trains to get there. We sang, we laughed, we snoozed, we ate, we drank, we got frustrated, we got silly, we took pictures.
Four trains, two and a half hours later. We arrived. We were greeted by Mandy's neon lips & nails and bright blue car and headed to her new little house.
A few songs later, we gave her little Barney a cuddle and made her open our gifts that we bought/made her. She loved them. We hugged and drank tea until our lovely little Laura rang the doorbell. After a good catch up we all headed into town for an explore, a little photobooth session, and the biggest and chocolate-iest brownie you have ever seen in the creepiest and coolest little tearoom. After washing that down with a glass of apple. We stumbled across the most amazing little shop filled with washi tape and children's toys. We got lost in there for nearly an hour.
We were met by our other friend Claire and went home to Mandy's for pizza and a little lesson on making paper cranes. We made these out of old flower book pages and were ordered to hang them in the lounge for the evening's celebrations.
We got dolled up and went out for a dance and I was craving a cup of tea so much, it is awful! I am so old these days!
The next day I felt like a little tired bunny. We ventured out into town for some breakfast. Mandy took us to a little American Diner on the corner by the seafront. We overindulged in Banana and Toffee American pancakes and cherry shakes. We were more than full. It was so very tasty though. The diner too was fantastic. Worth the trip if you are ever near and fancy something different.
After some more exploring and a little meet up with Nicola's Foxy friend/business partner. We all hugged and said our goodbyes and off we went for long journey home.
It was such a tiring weekend but so lovely to catch up and have a giggle with friends.
More tape was bought, more photobooth photographs and some stationery gifts for my Nephew's birthday, Double Oops. Who needs new work shoes anyway!! Other than my major stationery haul, I bought Plane tickets to Berlin for May and gig tickets to see HAIM out there with lovely Alix. --Adventure part two.
