Last week I went to the lovely town of Margate to visit my lovely friend Alix. So Margate does have it's not-so-nice parts, but the old town and little streets have the most perfect shops and haunts. There are few little shops that have the most precious things, old suitcases and books, pretty kitchen accessories, vintage finds etc. Next time I visit I will have my purse prepared and an empty car.
I traveled down with our friend Suz and we listened to old O.C soundtracks from our school days and had a good catch up. After surprising Alix at her door, and having little snuffle hugs with Pig, we ventured into town. We had a little wander around the Turner gallery and then a little nose around the shops.
After wanting to buy far too many treasures, and resisting, we had a delightful burger at The Greedy Cow.
After we let our tummies settle from the huge burgers we went next door to The Cupcake Cafe for a banana milkshake. This little cafe is filled with beautiful floral china and other trinkets that you can purchase. It is so pretty. After visiting the centre a little way down the road and having a tea and apple juice, we said our farewells to Suz. Got into our pyjamas, planned some Berlin adventures and watched The Perks of Being a Wallflower... whilst snacking on too many biscuits.
It was lovely being surrounded by Alix' beautiful home and the pretty town and sea air, that I really did not want to come home. I do love certain aspects of my house, but it is not my home and I so desperately wish to own my own little nook. There is only so much you can do in a rented property.
We also had a lovely conversation about weddings and children and escaping the country. Which kind of changed my life... seriously, this girl is my long lost sister. So I have decided I'm just going to live in her shed so I see her all the time, and the Prince can visit every so often.
