Laura Ashley AW13 Press Event

This time last week I was at the Laura Ashley press event for their beautiful Autumn Winter 13 range. I met the lovely Rosie at Hyde Park and we walked up the marbled steps of the stunning Il Bottacio building together. We were greeted with Strawberry and Banana smoothies and what seemed to be Berry juices. They were in fact Beetroot and Celery, neither of which I like. The juice however was quite refreshing and after telling myself 'that is TWO of my five a day in that glass', I sipped away.
I fell in love with these beautiful scented candles and matching tea mugs. I will most definitely be purchasing some of these. The candle-filled matte printed glasses are so pretty and I can think of a few little places for these around my town house. The scents are so subtle and soft too.
With my latest love for maps and globes, this antique map printed cushion just spoke to me! I love it. I like the neutral elements and that it will go with anything, floral, tartan, pink!
There was one little section that I was totally in awe with. Cool Coral. I never even thought of the concept of Rose Gold furniture before. So beautiful! The mix with the coral gave it a warm girly feel. I like the gladioli print bed sheets.
There were some amazing Christmassy things, but due to the lack of sunshine lately I wanted to leave those photos out. There were beautiful sequinned snowflake mats and glittery pinecone wreaths. I am looking forward to purchasing a red woollen tartan cushion cover- they were stunning! I also love anything Scottish!
With the Laura Ashley brand being 60 this year, We were lucky enough to have a little peek at some of their archive and a brief timeline of the company. There were some wonderful treasures! I love these cushions. The fabrics are perfectly Pastel and the Emma fabric has to be my favourite. I am so happy to be seeing it in their AW13 range. It's perfect.
The archive section had some wonderful vintage dresses from all different eras. There was a dress that had a triangular scalloped hem, there was a little girl's sailor dress, there was a bonnet, classic Laura Ashley floral fabrics. It was so interesting.
I'd much rather go shopping for my home than for myself. I just find clothes shopping really stressful. I guess if I actually stuck to a diet or a regime I might find it more enjoyable. But seeing some of the beautiful pieces that will be around for Autumn, I cannot wait! I loved the navy and berry section- Berry Chic. So much delicate aztec-type print on soft blouses, printed waistbands on slim chinos, polka dot shirts, navy and white stripe, navy printed scarves. Perfectly Autumnal. I think I shall be putting a few of these garments in my shopping basket when I pay my nearest Laura Ashley store a visit.
I am pretty fond of nudes and blush pinks as you all must be aware of by now, so the New Neutrals rail gave me a little squeal. Pale grey tweed skirts, blush coloured cardigans with a glittering metallic neckline, soft stripes, nice little hints of khaki, cream and soft mustard. This section was wonderfully feminine. I think I will be putting a couple of these items in my basket too! So very pretty.
Lots of Wintry reds appeared in the AW13 Fashion section, along with comfy cosy knits with snowflake prints and Scandinavian patterns. Lots of creamy cashmere and chunky knitted scarves, Monochrome delights for work days and Christmas parties. Glittering beaded embroidery peter pan collars on soft jumpers, more polka dots and stripes, warm cosy coats and wonderful leathery bags.
This AW will be sparkly! It's a guarantee.
It was a lovely day out. I said my goodbyes to the lovely Rosie and after the pretty Emma had stopped filming we went for tea and cake at Green Park. I am so lucky that being invited to these wonderful events I have met some lovely bloggers and friends.
So lets go and enjoy the sunshine whilst we still can with our pimms cocktails, picnics and walks along the beach.
Then when we're satisfied and well into September, we can get ready for Autumn decked out in Laura Ashley. Happy Wednesday lovelies.
