My Ultimate Summer Driving Playlist

It is that time of year again where I am packing up my suitcase with dresses, suncream and camera film. This weekend I am off to a lovely week away in Devon with Sebastian. Cream Teas, real ice cream, funfairs, beach wandering, dress wearing. I cannot wait.
As MoneySupermarket.com are hosting a competition to win an iPad in exchange for sharing your Ultimate Summer Driving Playlist, I saw it rather fitting to enter.

Now I am a bit of a Mix-Tape kind of girl, I love a good variety. That 'I wonder what's up next' feeling is just so good. Lately I have started listening to my iPod on shuffle and my do I have such a random mix of music on there! It's great.

My childhood is filled with long journeys to Devon, Scotland and the South of France on family holidays. It would just not be right without our traditions of listening to Kool and the Gang, Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons, Sade, Sting, Spandau Ballet--- You can tell my Papa had a huge say in what we listened to. But I would not have it any other way.
The playlist that I will have handy this weekend will include:
*The All American Rejects- Such Summery vibes and reminding me of the good old days.
*Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons- Remember 'Big girls don't cry' or ' Sherry', well this IS my childhood, there could never be a long journey without these guys for me to sing along to! Whether Sebastian likes it or not!
*Taylor Swift- Yup! I know, I am NOT ashamed! I told you I like variety! This is perfect sing-along material! Especially '22'.
*Walk The Moon- 'Tightrope' is the song I listen to and imagine that I am on a summery drive with the windows down.
*The Used- 'The taste of ink' makes me want to dance in my seat. Such Summer memories.
*Kelly Clarkson- 'Since you been gone', just for old times sake. Me and the girls used to listen to this nearly EVERY day on the drive to college. Singing (badly) at the top of our voices. That was until I discovered...
*A Day to Remember- Their version of the song is just brilliant.
*Beyonce- 'Schoolin' life'
*Stereo Total- 'I love you ono' just because.
*Noah and the Whale- '5 years'.
*Montell Jordan- 'This is how we do it'- Super Summery tune.
*Lykke Li- 'Little bit'.
*Haim- 'Forever'.
*Nicki Minaj- 'Starships'
*Kool and the Gang- 'Get down it'
*Pharrell Williams- 'Fun fun fun'
What would be on your ultimate driving playlist? Do you have some music that just reminds you of your happy childhood days like I do? Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons will most definitely be in my children's lives! Fact.
If you would like to be in the chance of winning an iPad too, why not enter here and share your playlist.

Have a wonderful week filled with sunshine and sandals. I'll see you next week, when I am stuffed with ice creams and clotted cream filled scones, sprinkled with freckles and just, well happy.
I'll send you a Postcard.

  2. I hope you have an amazing time! I'd love a cream tea right now, they are my favourite thing about being in Devon! Apart from Watermouth Castle - that places will always hold a fondness in my heart.
As for my playlist? A bit of John Mayer, some old classic rock and some cheesy 90s music will do me. Nothing better than a driving sing a long! xxx

  3. Oh my goodness, I am so jealous! That sounds absolutely delightful :) little trips like this are what make summer so great. Some of my favorite summer tunes would have to be blasting some Grouplove with the windows rolled down. Their music is just so upbeat, and you can't help but smile :)

  7. Love the inclusion of Queen B :) Hopefully your Summer Drive is less eventful than mine - we had the joy of trying to find a new tyre after ours got a puncture.. so a lesson to everyone, carry a spare tyre!
