Oh I Do Like To Be Beside The Seaside

It has been over a week and a half since leaving the beautiful pastel streets of Devon. I miss the seaside air, and even though I am a short train ride away from the sea, it just is not the same. How I long for those seven carefree days again using up all my coins on the pier at the amusements and nibbling on ice cream daily. Sigh. Instead, we will just take in all the wonderful moments I spent in sunny Devon by peeking at some of my snaps.
Days spent at the beach. Evenings spent at the beach- watching the sun set and winning a game or two at Top Trumps and talks of the future and little TTDERs and eyeing up the pastel beach huts.
Trips to Torquay on a boat called the Dart Princess, and spending the whole day there shopping and lazing in the park nibbling at doughnuts & sipping slushies and eyeing up the boats in the harbour.
Having all the fun at the fair, until Sebastian went green after an upside down ride and refused to go on the waltzers with me. Eating nougat and lusting candy floss and crepe eating and playing hoops and regretting the ghost train.
Visits to Babbacombe and the Model Village. Spying all the secret characters and reminiscing of trips in the past separately when we were children. Laughing at the adult jokes and counting all the miniature Gorillas.
Walking down the high street purchasing old books and dried lavender and falling in love with the summer bunting.
Trips back to Torquay to enjoy a wonderful cream tea at the most darling place; Burridges with mismatched vintage crockery and huge slices of cake and a selection of teas, facing the Harbour. A highlight.
Spending the last day people watching, sitting on the beach, eating Ice Cream, playing on the amusements and winning hundreds of tickets, drinking at the Regatta, and feeling sad about the going home situation the following day.
I had the best time. I miss it, alot. I feel a plan to the seaside trip is in order, I desperately need the salty sea air in my lungs, an ice cream and the lovely little knick-knack shops.

You've just made me want to up-sticks and move away to the sea even more, which I didn't think was possible! And if I can, Devon is my first choice. Your photos really, really capture the magic. Thanks for making me smile on a rubbish day!

    1. Yes, I know what you mean. It is very touristy but I guess you need to embrace it. What I would give to have THAT many ice cream flavours on my doorstep!
