Polka Dot Party

Sometimes when you're living in a rented property you really are restricted in what you can do to make the place nicer.
Apart from jazzing up my mood by wearing a ditsy dotty print blouse on this chilly, winter (but bright sunny) Sunday, I try to make this big ol' town house somewhat home.
I have started to tape silly photobooth snaps and inspirational postcards up around the house, mixed with world maps and globes.
Postcards from Ladybird Likes, Paperchase & Berlin.

I must motivate myself to make some new cushion covers and throw out our current brown pair that came with the sofa. Maybe some floral fabric or polka dots or maybe a map print!
Until then I shall carry on swanning around the house in my new Nude dotty print blouse from French Connection.

How pretty is this blouse? I think it is perfect for any season, any type of weather! I definitely want to team it with a pretty jewel coloured knitted jumper once Spring arrives. The collar would look so sweet poking out the top of an emerald green chunky knit sweater, with an added vintage brooch for good measure!
I have paired it with a pair of trusty Topshop Leigh jeans and floral high-tops as it is fairly blustery out and I had to pop out to get groceries for the week. (comfort is my middle name).
I would wear this out for a lovely meal with the Mr, just add a sparkly jeweled statement necklace and smart jacket.
I love the milky chiffon fabric, I wondered if it may be a little too pale next to my equally (if not more) pale skin but it gives me a little healthy glow... or perhaps that's the bronzing pearls... maybe.

  3. I totally agree with you about rented (or just temporary spaces) that you can't or it isn't worth the effort to decorate. But wearing pretty clothes is a good mood antidote! and that is SUCH a pretty blouse.

Definitely make some cushions. All the cushions in all the fabrics!!!
