Life Lately

Lately I have been caught up in my own thoughts and my own company.
But I think I have managed to pull myself out of it. Planning new projects, getting the sewing machine back out and buying new blouses for my new job.
I have also started to eat a little better/healthier. Boiled eggs and brown toast soldiers, handfuls of fruit, healthy smoothies. However, it is so hard to resist chocolate... and takeaway!
I need to try to make some fancy salads -Does anyone have any super easy, super tasty recipes?
New projects, new job, new wardrobe, new plans, new dreams.
Hopefully I am finally on the right path, leaving the negatives behind me. I am ready to start making the most of my life and I'm not going to look back.

  1. A lovely post, it sounds like it's a very exciting time for you. Beautiful new blouses!

I make a quick salad for lunch of lettuce, cucumbers, sweetcorn, mozzarella, prawns and dressing - it's really tasty.

P.S. All time fave salad - baby spinach leaves, chopped avocado and smoked streaky bacon with a drizzle of olive oil and balsamic vinegar dressing. Yum!

  3. Sounds like you're in a great place, wishing you lots of luck for your new job! I've also been trying to eat a lot healthier recently and I feel your chocolate craving pain, my favourite salad so far has been; spinach, lettuce, diced avocado, peppers, sweetcorn with either chicken breast or tuna, for a dressing I use lots of Greek yoghurt, it's really low in fat and is a great alternative to mayo! x

  9. Just came across this, and it completely sums up how I've been feeling recently. On the healthy eating front it's not just about the salads! I like light, easy meals that are really flavoursome & use loads of veg - have recently been straying towards Asian flavours: http://marinaoftherocks.wordpress.com/2014/06/21/asian-salmon-with-stir-fried-vegetables-noodles/
