Bank Holiday adventures

After a long busy week of work and no play, the three day weekend was very much needed! Even though I had a grumpy moment or two on the Sunday- it was such a lovely long weekend.
Sebastian and I just chilled out; explored a little, watched films, wore jumpers, sipped shakes, snuggled under blankets, ate crumpets and goofed around.
The best part about this inbetween seasons weather is that you can wear dresses with woollen tights or leggings, knitted jumpers and pastel sandals without it being either too hot or too cold. Basically my ideal weather. Perfect exploring and shake sipping temperature!
I bought a grey chunky knit knee length cardigan and a pair of chocolate coloured leather ankle boots for the lovely Autumnal months ahead. I cannot wait to stroll around in them.
This is probably the first time all summer I have worn a dress! I know- ridiculous. But I just don't like to bare my legs. So wearing dresses with thick tights or leggings fills me with joy. I wore my favourite dress on Saturday- the one with the amazing map print on. Oh I love it so- it is perfect for Autumn too as the colours are wonderful! It would look great with charcoal woollen tights and my new ankle boots.
I have really enjoyed sitting at our little wooden kitchen table lately. We usually eat our breakfast there, it is right next to the window so we look out over everyone's gardens (wishing that we had one) but lately we have been eating our dinner there too and watching the sun set. It's quite beautiful and easily my new favourite thing!
On the Sunday, after walking around in my glittery jellies and giving me blisters, I took some time out to meet my dear friend Zena for a spot of tea and cake. With work being so crazy lately I haven't really been one to socialize or even sit at my desk and get creative so it was nice to get out. We discussed wedding stresses and lack of excitement whilst nibbling confetti sprinkled cupcakes and sipping hot strong teas with promises to hang out more and plans of a knitting 'craft night'.
After a nice lie-in on Monday, Sebastian and I had Teddy shaped crumpets with marmite and tea and spent the day grocery shopping, milkshake sipping and playing games on the Playstation. It was a super chilled day. A much needed chilled day before a full on week of work before Sebastian and I have a whole week off filled with adventures and no alarms.
How have you lovely lot spent your long weekends? Autumnal walks and snuggles on the sofa?

I spent the Saturday exploring Lincoln and having afternoon tea, and Sunday was spent taking a very long walk and blackberry picking, it is definitely feeling autumnal out there! x

  5. Aw, it looks as if you had such a sweet weekend! That cupcake and those crumpets made my tummy rumble a little, mmmm.
My weekend was more sour than sweet - I worked Creamfields, 36 long hours over two days. Safe to say today I spent my day in pure luxury aka my bed! :)

  6. Our ewes are lambing, so busy weekend checking sheep. Brushed my horse who is moulting (we are coming into Spring here). Nothing terribly exciting, although one ewe did have a set of triplets!!
