Hello December

Well hello December, didn't you creep up on us pretty darn quickly. It feels like December arrived and so did the bitter cold weather. I had to wear gloves this morning (along with being nestled in a warm scarf and cosy coat).
What better way to greet our beloved chilly December than with a Yankee Candle advent calender*. How beautiful is this cottage shaped calender filled with sweet festive scented tea lights?
Sebastian and I made each other a little advent calender last year- but with the wedding planning well underway we didn't really have much time or money to really properly think about doing it again this year. Though I feel I have a pretty good replacement!
Every door has a little tea light (that burns for hours!) which smells SO good! There are two calenders, one for Christmas Present- for you modern sophisticated elves out there and the other is Christmas Past- for Traditional children like myself. Each have a selection of different smells depending on the theme. If you can't decide which one you think you might prefer you can take the quiz on Yankee Candle's Facebook page.
Let's face it I didn't really need to take the test to find out I love all things traditional, family time and 'Last Christmas' by Wham (I mean, YOU could have taken the test for me and worked it out)! But obviously it turns out I am a Christmas Past kinda girl.

Try the app here and see whether you're Christmas Present or Christmas Past.
***Twenty Three days until Christmas***

What advent calenders do you tend to have? I love the traditional picture ones, partial to a chocolate one but LOVE a homemade one. I am pretty sure this will be a tradition in our future family home.

  2. What a cute idea! That's lovely and Christmassy! I don't tend to have an advent calendar but if I did it would be a standard chocolate one! I love advent calendar chocolate!

  3. This is SO cute, I love how they have the two different types. I've always just had a boring old dairy milk one but that chocolate is the best, I even had to buy my own this year for the first time. Is this what growing up feels like!? x

  5. What a beautiful advent calendar, and such a good idea. My little boy has a Peppa Pig one, not quite as tasteful!

  8. Oh this is great! I do not have an advent calendar, unfortunately :( I used to buy a great, massive, Kinder one when I was in France but I cannot find it in London. I would have loved to get the Liberty's one instead (but it costs £140, so way out of my budget!!). I love yours though <3

  9. I just have the standard chocolate advent calendar this year, I wish I'd invested in something a bit more exciting though! x

  10. Every year my mother would send me an advent calendar, this year she hasn't. Sigh, adult life.

  12. Love Yankee Candles so this is pretty ideal! I have a picture one this year as I'm not a chocolate person, I'd love a beauty one but they're so expensive!
