Outwitting the Cold Snap

This weekend the skies were a beautiful blue, the sun so warm and high up amongst the white fluffy clouds, and tiny yellow buds poke out over blades of grass. It is so very nearly spring and the first signs are my absolute favourite.
The best part about the Winter into Spring transition is the chill in the air and wonderful sunshine and even better when the pond is iced over outside and the sun rays are peering into your lounge in the morning. I love nothing more than snuggling up indoors with a chunky knit jumper when it's chilly out.
Cosying up indoors with a hot (floral!) cup of tea and watching people outside marching into town wrapped up in coats, their knitted bobble hats and snuggled into their scarves makes for a perfect weekend activity.

My favourite cosy outfit of late is a white, soft cotton shirt and knitted jumper with my slim jeans and comfy socks. I have recently updated my wardrobe to more of a capsule one. Picking pieces that go with everything is so much easier and nicer. I love not having to separate (too much) my weekend and my work wear, I like to go to work looking and feeling like me without the stress of 'oh what shall I wear today?!'. I like the idea of having a 'uniform', not for work but for everyday life.
This beautiful Navy knitted jumper from Joules is actually perfect for this. I am a HUGE fan of jumpers at the best of times but this one is so soft and gorgeous! I also have quite a thing for Navy!
The fit is really nice and not too loose around the cuffs, which I find alot of jumpers are. I think teamed with my soft white shirt it creates a smart look without it being too stuffy! I would also wear a white or grey fine linen t shirt with this jumper and slim jeans for a more casual approach.
Not only do I have a thing for Jumpers, but as you are all aware I have a thing for Tea. Tea is the quickest and perfect way to warm your insides from the chill. Wrapping your hands around a hot cup of tea is a wonderful way to get warm and such a 'comfort' feeling. It reminds me of home at the cottage with the log burner warming my cheeks and cold nose and toes.
I am currently enjoying my tea out of these beautiful floral mugs from the Joules Kitchenware range. These are such a nice shape and a fairly decent size which in my eyes is a double bonus. Oh and they are floral-- triple points!
