On Saturday I woke up with a smile. I was off to London to meet up with my two favourite bloggers. Miss Jenny and Miss Alice.
Alice had planned the day wonderfully. We started the day at Borough Market. I have wanted to go for so long but have never ended up going... It was well worth the wait that's for sure. Stalls of fresh fruit, tasty cheeses and delicious hams.
After a super milky (not on purpose) tea, we pottered around the market tasting all the cheese samples and trying to decide what to have for lunch. We all decided to go for the 'Proper fish n chips' Fish finger butty... which was pretty amazing. Though I did drop a piece AND there was not a choice of mayonnaise (sad face!).
After nibbling on our butties in the sunshine we headed back into the market where I bought some delicious Turkish Delight from the Turkish stall. I was spoilt for choice but decided on Rose and Watermelon. Both were absolutely amazing and I have already put in a request for more when mother goes back.
We then hopped on the tube to Chalk Farm where we ambled in and out of pretty shops and made love heart eyes at all the beautiful cards and bizarre wall art. Whilst in a vintage shop with a pretty sleepy pup and rails of lovely dresses, to my left was the gorgeous Ricky Wilson. Yes. THE Ricky Wilson from The Voice (-which I then later realised how silly that is because he's actually from the band before the bloody voice!!! Fail!)... anyway there he was looking at vintage shirts and ties whilst I'm gingerly nudging Jenny and Alice like a teenager.
After a few more shop visits, and getting lost among the pretty pastel houses that lined every other street, off we went towards Primrose Bakery to grab a cupcake and a tea before heading to the park.
There were so many cupcake options at the bakery, I naturally went for the Rose and a small cup of tea... which for the second time that day annoyingly came far too milky. All of ours did. So instead of complaining, off we went sipping on our milky yucky teas to Primrose Hill.
Chatting in the sunshine, dog watching and nibbling on our cupcakes was the most loveliest with these girls and on such a perfect Spring day. After many giggles, crumbs and peeing pups we went for a wander through Regents Park. We were greeted by ducks in the lake and crocuses peering through blades of glass. Oh I do love Spring.
After an amble down Marylebone high street and discovering a beautiful book store we decided we desperately needed a proper cup of tea... where we can pour our own milk!!
After a quick dash to the bathroom, I joined the table and something amazing happened, I can't go into too much detail just yet... but the beautiful Sunny Sweetpea, Jenny proposed such a wonderful question and in such a wonderful way I could have cried right there and then. Yes, she asked me to be her bridesmaid! More on that when I can spill the beans.
What a wonderful way to end the day! I had the most loveliest Saturday with such gorgeous friends. It was so very needed and I am truly loving March already!! I feel so grateful.
