Adventuring with a Sunny Sweet Pea

On Friday I hopped on a train for yet another adventure in London to meet the beautiful Jenny.
I received free tickets for the Country Living Spring fair courtesy of the wonderful Hannah- (Thank you darling!) and we took advantage of a Friday off work to explore.
Wandering through the doors of the Business centre in Islington, we were greeted with crates of fresh tulips, hyacinth and pale daffodils. It was a true Spring love affair.
We browsed the fair weaving in and out of pretty stalls and pinching free tasters of black cheese and chorizo sausage followed by marshmallows. Jenny purchased a few woodland animal prints and then we watched the teeny spring lambs feeding on bottled milk and we were slowly falling in love.
Once we successfully dodged the hoards of women between each stall, we hurried on out looking for lunch. Whilst browsing the ideal lunch spot, we had a wee look in a couple of cute boutiques in Islington.
We finally stumbled across an Itsu, which I had never eaten at before, and oh my did I have a super healthy lunch (makes a change, eh?!).
We found a darling community garden around the corner to eat our rabbit food yummy salad. We sat on a tree bench in the sun surrounded by flowers and chatted about weddings and love.
After polishing off our salad and sushi, we headed to South Kensington for a little browse around the V&A.
We headed straight outside to the courtyard for a hot chocolate in the prettiest floral paper cups in the gorgeous sunshine. We should have gotten a good eyeful of the Total Eclipse this day, but annoyingly the sky was full of grey cloud shadowing the sun in the morning... but in typical British manner the sun chooses to come out to play after it is meant to!
Soaking up the rays, sipping our hot chocolates, it actually felt a little like the beginning of Summer... I even took my coat off!
Jenny and I had a quick look around the museum and taking in all the lovely costumes, statues and talented artists hurriedly sketching away what was in the cabinet in front of them.
We ogled the wonderful gold leaf architecture around doorways and intricate floral tapestries hung behind glass cabinets. We stared in awe at the selection of pottery and ceramic teapots and pretty tiled floors.
Once I had made my postcard purchases, we headed for the tube to Warren Street to meet the lovely Alice for some delicious pizza at Franco Manca. Hands down the nicest Pizza place I have been to in ages! It was SO good and so inexpensive.
Hang outs with Jenny and Alice always ends up in giggles and a warm heart. I love these ladies.
I hope you are all having a wonderful week... it is nearly the weekend! What plans have you made for it? Sebastian and I are hoping to visit our Wedding venue for a catch up and a measure.

  9. Ooh, I'm glad you had such a lovely time. Those lambs were just too much. I've been looking at smallholding guides and livestock rearing ever since I came home. I'm besotted.
Next time, we shall attend together and go on an adventure of our own.

  10. Sounds like a wonderful Friday - those cups are so beautiful! I've been meaning to visit the V&A for such a long time and really have no excuse not to have already done so considering that I live in London, but those cups have definitely reminded me why I need to make a trip asap! Have a lovely weekend.
