Last Saturday Sebastian and I hopped on a train to a couple of towns over for a day out for Wedding appointments and good food.
The moment we arrived we headed for a coffee each before attending our appointment at the Jewellers. I feel like I am cheating on my beloved Tea lately. Every time I go out for a cup of tea and cake I end up ordering a latte. I think I am slowly being converted. Though I will NEVER abandon my beloved cup of Twinings Everyday tea! NEVER!
Once we had refueled with a latte & cappuccino and bite of brownie, we headed to the Jewellers.
Picking our wedding rings was something I had been slightly worried about. I had no idea what I was looking for. The moment I walked into Kilburn Jewellers I felt at ease. We sat down with one of the Kilburn brothers to discuss our ideas and we both instantly started to get a little more excited. I expected this to be difficult and it really wasn't.
Both Sebastian and I wanted bespoke rings, mine to fit alongside my antique engagement ring and his unique and special. I could feel the excitabubbles pouring out of Sebastian when he discussed his ring. It was so lovely. We could tell the jeweller too was looking forward to making his ring!
We chatted future projects, computers, wedding videos and golf and after paying a deposit for our extremely reasonable priced bespoke wedding rings we arranged our second appointment and went on our merry way. A massive weight had been lifted off my shoulders! And another item ticked off the list.
Sebastian and I felt so excitable and full of beans and went skipping down the lane for food (I'd like to pretend we did the skipping... but we probably just walked with a wee bounce!).
We wandered into Bill's to fill our happy tummies with some delightful food.
I have confession to make... I have never eaten at Bill's before. I know I know- I've been living under a rock! But now I have and I have already planned what I'm going to have from the menu next time!!
^^^Fish finger sandwich & skin on fries with Bill's Pink Lemonade- SO good!
We chatted more Wedding over dinner and washed it all down with pink lemonade and ginger beer (how predictable are we?!).
After feeling rather full we decided to go for a wander around the town to buy Mothers Day gifts and try on silly Flamingo hats.
^^^Out of focus crazy face... but how awesome is this hat?
I stumbled upon a couple of pretty shops filled with trinkets, crystals, homemade cards and sweet wooden decorations- all far too pretty to pass up. A few purchases had to be made for loved ones.
I also found a sweet tearoom/gift shop. The tearoom of my dreams! A small chocolate counter to the right of the entrance and to the left were shelves of ceramic vases and wire baskets filled with Easter decorations and silk scarves. At the back of the shop was a hidden tearoom with half a dozen garden tables and an array of cakes. Due to full tummies we couldn't stay for tea but I plan for us to stop off here in a couple of weeks when we revisit for our second appointment.
Happy Friday everyone, I am currently in London with the beautiful Jenny. Tomorrow I have a tea date with a lovely friend and Sunday will be spent at my brothers for a roast dinner with his lovable pups.
I hope you have some wonderful plans for the weekend. What adventures do you have lined up?
