Wedding // Photobooth Loving

With it still being July aka 'First Wedding Anniversary Month' I must absolutely tell you all about the wonderful Photobooth we had at our wedding. It was so difficult to find a beautiful photobooth with a vintage style to it's photos. Sebastian and I were looking for black & white strips that our guests could stick into our guest book with a message for us as well as taking a copy home with them. We also wanted the booth to look the part alongside having cute, vintage and fun props to play around with.
Finding all our requirements rolled into one was almost nigh on impossible ... until I stumbled upon The Vintage Photobooth Company. Not only did they tick ALL the boxes, but they are local too!
Scrolling through their website I noticed that they had two vintage style booths and one of them had old cinema seats - erm... YES!!
I absolutely loved everything about the booth. The lovely owners were so understanding when I requested only vintage style, fun props too. Sebastian and I didn't want brightly coloured wigs, ginormous glasses and the like you usually find in the prop boxes. They hand selected floral crowns, vintage cameras, wooden tennis rackets, moustaches, straw hats, head scarves, spectacles and more, oh and not forgetting their trusty Heron friend.
Not only were we particular in what we wanted in our props trunk but we were also offered a custom design for our strips. With being THAT couple that hops into a photobooth any chance we get, we really wanted a black and white finish like the many souvenir strips we've collected on our adventures. There are a few layout options to choose from and once you've decided on 'the one', the team will take elements from your wedding stationery and add a little something extra special. In our case it was the pressed viola and washi tape motif with our names. When I opened the example in my emails before the big day I was very excited! That little design in the bottom corner just makes the finished product just perfect.
I loved the idea of our loved ones taking funny and sweet snaps and then sticking half of it in our guest book with washi tape provided and leaving us a message or two. I have been to so many weddings where the guest books are half empty because the guests just don't get around to doing it. Doing it this way made it sort of mandatory... which it technically shouldn't be but hey, we wanted to laugh at their silly faces too!
I absolutely love love love flicking through our guest book. It is a real coffee table worthy book to have laying around for visitors to peek at. To some extent I favour looking at these over our wedding album purely because it makes us laugh so much. I remember the morning after our special day we sat in bed opening all our beautiful cards and going through these and laughing so hard we cried! Memories are a wonderful thing.
Our guests loved exchanging hats, glasses and 'staches and I felt so happy they all had fun. We toyed with the option of no props at all in the beginning, especially when all the booths that came up were garish, 'ugly' props which really put us off. But I am so happy we found this company and that we did decide on fun accessories because our guests had a blast! (and we obviously got gorgeous photos to show for it!).
I am so so happy we had this at our wedding. It made a wonderful afternoon even more special... and amusing! My only regret is that I wished I had had enough time to dive in and out of it more as I only managed a few go's. Perhaps I can convince a couple of friends/family to hire it at upcoming events so I can selfishly keep queuing up!! The snaps I have though are pretty special so I shall be grateful for those.

Looking for a Photobooth of dreams for your upcoming wedding or birthday party? THIS is definitely the one to choose. It's gorgeous to look at and will stand out in a good way and the finished product is perfect. Oh and the staff are fantastic! Exactly what you need. You also receive ALL images on a disc. So all my naughty guests who didn't stick their photos in, I have the copies so I can print them myself if I wanted which is a wonderful idea.
Have a little peek at their website here.

  1. I looooove this as a guestbook idea! I haven't been to any weddings with photobooths before but I love the props you had and all of the pictures on your pages.
I'm not a huge guestbook fan as I think most people don't really know what to write or end up writing exactly the same as they did in your wedding card anyway. We had a guestbook with ideas for people to fill out on each page (draw a picture of us on our wedding day/what should we call our first child/what is your funniest memory of us as a couple/etc) They were quite funny to read through afterwards!

  2. This looks AMAZING!!! Just a fun way to remember and look back.

  3. Absolutely love that idea. Wish I'd had one at my wedding!
