October adventures

When spontaneous trips to the local farm shop turns out to be the best mornings. The sun was shining, a slight chill in the air, perfect for a morning tea and cake date outside with friends.
We sat, chatted, sipped our hot tea whilst the littles roamed around in the barn, climbing hay bales, sharing plastic fruit dinners in between playing chase. It was such a blissful hour in that warm Autumn sunshine.

When each cake crumb had been eaten, every tea drop had been slurped we wandered behind the barns in search for the farm's friendly donkeys. Letting the littles lead the way, running (always running!), excitedly shrieking when spying tractors and then the lovely donkeys. They were so funny chatting away to the hairy mules, "come on boy!", collecting fallen tree apples and feeding them, falling about in giggles. I love watching Olive play and chat with her little best friend. They are so sweet together.
Once we had (over)fed the donkeys, said hello (and a quick goodbye) to the geese we ambled back to the farm shop to stock up on some apples. We tasted a few apples before making our purchase... and by 'we', I mean the littles! After a good ol' browse around the lovely shop, we resisted the selection of homemade cakes and organic cookies, decided on our apple choices and selection of vegetables in brown paper bags and went on our merry way.

We had the loveliest, slow morning. Countryside air, Autumn sunshine, fresh fruit and vegetables, tea and cake, making friends with donkeys. The absolute perfect combination.
